Gum disease

Gum disease.

Periodontology deals with the prevention and treatment of gum and periodontal diseases, commonly known as parodontosis. The most common cause of inflammation of the gums and periodontium is plaque bacteria, which, if not removed, mineralizes and turns into tartar. Chronic, untreated gingivitis leads to loosening of teeth and eventually tooth loss.

At the Goodent clinic, we place great emphasis on prevention and encourage our patients to have regular check-ups. This allows us to diagnose any problems early, including gum disease, and to take immediate remedial measures before gum disease develops and leads to serious consequences. And if it is already necessary to implement treatment, at the Goodent clinic patients will find the best care and effective therapy using the most modern regenerative and restorative techniques and the highest quality materials from reputable manufacturers.

periodontal diseases
Gum and periodontal diseases affect as many as 90% of Polish adults of all ages. The scale of the problem is so great that parodontosis has been recognized (along with dental caries, diabetes and obesity) as a disease of civilization. Smoking significantly increases the likelihood of parodontosis.

What are the most common signs of gum disease?
Gum inflammation usually does not cause pain, so pay attention to other symptoms. Alarming ones are:

  • Bleeding gums
  • Bad breath
  • Swelling of the gums
